Intel vs AMD

I'm ordering a new customized MediaCenter computer from HP. I have 2 options for processors:

Intel Core 2 Duo processor E6600 (2.4Ghz) or
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ dual-core-2.8GHz

I would like anyone's opinion on which one you would choose.

As for the other options I chose: 4gb of ram and a 512MB ATI Radeon X1700SE, 2DVI card.

personally i prefer the AMD, i myself have an AMD X2 5600+ but that being said the intel product is extremely capable as well, either way you go, you will be getting great performance, the main issue is price really, so shop around

Thank you for your imput Nimbin. The difference in price is 20 dollars. I'm kinda leaning toward Intel.(No pun intended)I heard about your leg problem. Take care of yourself.
