The toolbars aren't skinning for WB4. The WB.ini shows "SkinToolwindows=1" is this right or should it be something else? I remember I had to add this line to a version of WB 3.5, but that was a long time ago.

Here is my WB.ini(if you see somthing else let me know)

[Global]
Path=C:\Program Files\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds
forceDDB=1
SizeLimit=0
WindowLock=0
NoSound=0
UseHWAcc=0
SkinToolwindows=1
noProgress=0
noTabs=0
noScroll=0
SkinDisplay=1
HyperPaintMode=4
hyperpaint=1
HideMinMax=1
ResizeOpt=0

I think there has to be specific images included in the folder to skin the Tool Windows............ but I'm a bit confused,..... are asking about Tool Windows, or the Toolbar?
on May 04, 2003
That would be Toolbars. Sorry about that.

Ok better explaination the toolbars in Paintshop Pro and in PhotoShop even the Wincustomize Update bar, the tops are not skinned. They still have that classic look.

OK, I'm with you now........ maybe someone can set us straight on the terminology, but I think those are Tool Windows.
Whatever they're called, I'm wondering the same thing. How to get the titlebar skinned on the toolbar/toolwindows.
.........so........ *bump*

SkinToolWindows=1 means that tool windows (the ones with the small caption) are skinned. In WB 3.5 and UIS2 skins it will use the normal frame images and buttons. In UIS1 skins there can be special window borders defined for it. In WB4 the format of the tool windows haas been changed. SkinToolWindows=1 is not required for that. However, if new WB4 skins do not specifically skin tool windows then they will not be skinned. Also, in WB4 old skins that used to work with SkinToolWindows=1 will not be correctly skinned because of it.

Checkout the latest and greatest version of Blackcomb for samples.

End of bumping.

Can you elaborate, just a bit? I'm using the Silver skin by Essorant, modified by Stardock for this purpose, and the titlebars are just as MontyXP describes. Is this as good as it gets at this point? Come on dude, spill the beans.........

MadIce shoots some [Borders] beans.

[Borders]
HorzFrame=Blackcomb\horzframe.bmp
HorzFrameMask=Blackcomb\horzframemask.bmp
VertFrame=Blackcomb\vertframe.bmp
VertFrameMask=Blackcomb\vertframemask.bmp
FrameCount=3
NormalActiveFrame=0
NormalInactiveFrame=1
NormalDisabledFrame=2
NonSizableActiveFrame=0
NonSizableInactiveFrame=1
NonSizableDisabledFrame=2
ToolActiveFrame=0
ToolInactiveFrame=1
ToolDisabledFrame=2
NonSizableToolActiveFrame=0
NonSizableToolInactiveFrame=1
NonSizableToolDisabledFrame=2
LeftMiddleStretch=1
RightMiddleStretch=0
TopMiddleStretch=0
BottomMiddleStretch=1
RightTopHeight=22
RightBotHeight=4
TopTopHeight=0
TopBotHeight=100
LeftTopHeight=22
LeftBotHeight=4
BottomTopHeight=0
BottomBotHeight=4
UsesTran=0

You will notice that the FrameCount equals 3
The frames in BlacComb are use as follows:
Frame 0: Active
Frame 1: Inactive
Frame 2: Disabled

In the sample section these frames are distributed as follows:
FrameCount=3
NormalActiveFrame=0
NormalInactiveFrame=1
NormalDisabledFrame=2
NonSizableActiveFrame=0
NonSizableInactiveFrame=1
NonSizableDisabledFrame=2
ToolActiveFrame=0
ToolInactiveFrame=1
ToolDisabledFrame=2
NonSizableToolActiveFrame=0
NonSizableToolInactiveFrame=1
NonSizableToolDisabledFrame=2

The entries with "Tool" in it are used for tool windows.
If you are an adventurous skinner you can make more frames and distribute them in another fashion.
BTW: Each frame must of course be represented by an image in the bitmap.
Please tear Blackcomb appart to see how the definitions and bitmaps work.

It is rather late here.
MadIce hopes he didn't forget anything.

I think I understand: Skinners have to specify this when creating their skins, if they don't the toolbars won't be skinned. As Madice said Blackcomb has this and so does Crystal and Luna Silver WB4. 3.5 did this automatically, 4.0 the skinner does it. Am I right? Sounds like this has to be fixed.

Tried to post #9 as #8 but Madice beat me to it. So the skinners decide if this is skinned or not. OK

well for some reason the toolbars aren't skinned on my WB4 running blackcomb.

wish I knew of a way to make them work properly.

xino use the first one that says Blackcomb or you don't have the updated version.
