I use Norton but I don't use System Restore anymore. When I did I never got anything like that....it usually did nothing....quite useless in my opinion so I just turned it off and coughed up the money for Acronis True Image.

I FINALLY figured out how to use system restore...and it WORKS! Reboot into safe mode, THEN run system restore and reboot. Works every time. It takes a little longer and it helps to remember to set restore points but it really DOES work. I'd hate to tell you how long I've been using a computer before I found THAT little tip somewhere online.

Wise move, WG. Very wise move. I've very rarely found that System Restore works and Acronis is the best way to beat that problem

I've used Nortons since I've been on a computer ( 1998)...no problems at all....I also had to use system restore once, and it worked just fine.
